WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS LATEST STORM

 

TIMING: We continue to see rain today with more showery weather on Friday.  Finally we will see this slow moving storm pull away late Friday getting back to a partly sunny sky for the upcoming weekend. 

 

HOW MUCH:  Anywhere between 3/4" and 2 3/4" of rain has already fallen and more is on the way for today.  Most communities will receive between 2" and 4" of rain over the four day stretch. Locally higher amounts are possible.

 

FLOODING:  Flooding is possible today as we continue to see rain coming down heavy at times.    A Flood Watch has been issued from through this Evening. 

 

WIND:  Winds are gusty out of the northeast.  Gusts 30 to 40 mph are possible today.  A few scattered power outages are possible since some trees still have leaves on them acting like sails to capture the wind. 

 

COASTAL FLOODING - A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect today from 9 am to 2 pm for splashover and beach erosion.  Some minor coastal flooding is also possible.

TODAY: Rain, heavy at times.  Possible thunder and windy.  Highs near 50.  NE winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

 

TONIGHT:  Rain and drizzle.  Windy still.  Lows 42 to 47.  North winds 15 to 25 mph.

 

FRIDAY: Cloudy with showers around.  Breezy.  Highs 50 to 55
